need help finding a sub/active sub

Does anyone know of any good places that have any subwoofers real cheap?
My dad got me a splx bass tube from someone from £20 but it no longer works when it rolled around in my car.
So im just looking for any subwoofer/bass tube that i could put in my car.
I'm not too bothered about what i get. Just something that would give me some more bass that some mid-range speakers might not provide.
Some active ones would be best because i don't know anything about subs and amps etc.. and i don't really want to take up loads of boot space.

Or maybe if you guys could point me in the direction of some decent makes etc.. that i could try and buy cheaply second hand from eb*y etc..

I've got a sony CDX-GT410U head unit, some ford mid-range speakers in the back (not sure [ERRR] model, but to me they sound decent), and 3way speakers in the front (they mite be 2way, im not sure, aint really checked).

That said, i have been thinking about probably getting component speakers from the front, and then maybe placing the tweeters that come with it in the roof next to the sun visors. What do you people suggest?

Those are two very good sites, caraudiodirect have alot of package deals.. amp+sub+wiring kit.

This is decent setup to get you started .. [how much do you want to spend?]

JBL do are quality speakers and reasonable prices.

Also if your going to fit tweeters you should put them in the A-pillars as up near the sun visor would be pretty high, the sound stage might be abit weird.

Infinity do a good range of comps that have been getting very positive reviews.

£140! :o I'm not keen on spending thaaat much!

As i said, im not really fussed on what it is, long as it sounds the part. If that little SPLX bass tube sounded good to me then anything will suit me!

I'm looking to spend as little as possible really, maybe even 2nd hand active sub as long as it works. I don't really want to spend much, only to find it gone along with £££'s of money down the drain...

Not what the reviews have been saying.

With car audio your always going to get better stuff second hand.
