Need new engine for FRST.. but 1.6 8v ?? or 1.8 16v ? ?

Hi all,

My 1.6 8v EFI turbo engine has broken down (bad)

so i've tried to get hold of a new one (through the dealer in holland)
to make a long story short.. the Dutch ford dealers cannot get hold of a new 1.6 CVH engine )-:

question 1:

Are those engine's still sold in england (brandnew i mean!!??)

question 2: If they aren't sold new in england also..
will i go for a reconditioned 1.6 cvh ??
or do you recommend a 1.8 16v zetec (with lowered compression) and the 1.6cvh injection system and turbo??

question 3: will it be hard appart from the lowering of compression to change to the 1.8 16v engine ??

greets

the (ever so) flying dutchman

http://www.fiestaprojects.com

That site contains every piece of info u need to convert a nice, shiny 16V N/A Zetec into a fire breathing turbo monster. Take a peek... and decide for yourself. I'd say this is they way forward if you are up to it... the tuning potential is noticeably greater.

Yes, Ford in the UK still sell new fiesta turbo engines. There are also many people such as Specialised Engines who sell new rebuilt engines.. It might be worth you looking on here and on the rsoc forum for fiesta engines for sale..

They do??

Why do people waste time getting their engines rebuilt when you can get a brand new one.

How much are they?

*update* And does it include a new T2 turbo?
