New custom exhaust

Hi, I'm gettin a custom cat back fitted to my si16v on thursday mornin, I'm gettin a pipe at each side, cos they look the dogs danglies with the si bumper. should I get 3inch pipes, 3.5's or 4's? I dont want them to scrub on humpback bridges etc. what sound shopuld I ask for?? i.e. grunt, v6 noise, rally style scream etc?? write back by wed nite please!!! if they too loud do they piss u off on tha motorway??

I reckon a 3.5 inch compromise, and not a too loud exhaust cos they do sound well pikey when u can here them a mile away. And on the motorway it may get annoying. Im sure the people your getting it off will have loads of decent advice. :D

dont make it too loud as ur just gona get pissed off with it esp on motorways.

our Mk1 Golf GTi 16v had a Rally Exhaust on with a 4" t/p and a 3" straight-thru bore when we first did it. this exhaust was FOOKIN L-O-U-D, used to set off car alarms when u drove past and u could hear it coming like a quarter of a mile down the road. and from that i guess u can work out wot it was like on the motorway.
