New Engine!

I currently own a mk3 1.1, but want more power, so i want to transplant a xr2i or maybe even a RST lump, into my car. How much would the lump cost itself? how much to fit it? and what other components whould have to be changed to accomodate the bigger/more powerful engine???
Thanx in Adavance!

i know that my new engine from ford was 900 squid and cost about 100 to fit it! i'm guessin it would cost maybe a tiny bit more for an xr2i and the turbo lump, well u gotta pay for the turbo too. expect anything upto 2 grand from ford!
As for fittin it then you'd need to change almost everything in the whole car. Suspension, brakes wiring, fuel pump, radiator, clutch, gearbox(maybe)altenator, etc etc. It's not really worth it cause by the time you've bought everything u may as well have bought a mint turbo and sold u'r car too. Then there's the insurance. They don't take too kindly to turbo'd cars that used to be little runarounds and will cost u more to insure a 2i or turbo conversion than a genuine 2i or turbo, even if it had all the same bits. Bloody insurance!

ur best bet will be to buy a written of turbo for a couple of hundred and then transfer everything over to ur car...at least that way...u will be able to change ALL minor components as well such as bushes etc etc as well.
for a complete running gear for a turbo engine, u'll be looking at around £800 thats including everything from the fuel pump to the turbo and engine loom! but no suspension, brakes etc etc, and for about the same price u can get hold of a written off turbo with everything on there
