Ok im replacing the engine in my car possibly with a recon xr2i version, if not can you stil buy the fiesta rst engines from Ford? if so how much .... I've got 4k left for engine mods new 17's and ICE.

Help appriciated.

If you have that much to spend, then why not contact Burton and see what they charge for a modified block and head.

You can still buy the FRST engines from ford, roughly £1000 + vat if i rememeber right, that is only a bare engine, i.e no turbo, no airbox, pipes etc etc, If you know someone that could get you ford discount, then its about £750 including vat. :D alot cheaper than most people would pay for a rebuild :lol:

He could almost go Zetec Turbo if he did some of it himself for 4k

Cheap!

Engines seem to be well cheap! I was imagining that they would be around £3000 + VAT! and you say £750 for a FRST?!!?

How much do you guys think it would cost for a 1.6i? (Thinking of insurance here - 18, 0 NCB, Male = profit for insurers)

An arm and a leg mate for insurance.im in the same situation im going throuhg my old dear need power to keep up wae ma mates who all have Rs turbos get insure it through elephant.co.uk third party £700 then plug in a 2 litre mondeo engine or do what im doind totally rebuiding ma fiesta and plumbing in a A Rs Turbo engine kit would be easier jsut buying a Fiesta Turbo but its more Fun and you know yourself the work is done porperlyand teh car is solid and mint as you take some amount of risk geting a mint one no matter howmuch resassurance.
