Hi Guys,
Signed up this evening as I may be stepping in to the world of FRST's! A mate of mine has a lovely moondust example for sale so i'm doing a bit of research first. Its a pretty good spec already: loads of nice engine bay bits, T3, pace cooler etc... Just needs some love so as i'm after a toy again its quite tempting!
Anyway my name is AL (Alex), i'm from Birmingham and am a Vauxhall man through and through (Dad worked for Vaux) although have had a couple of E RST's and would love another CVH to mess with, so easy to work with
Hopefully have the car posted up on here soon!

Re: New member...
surely hate is a bit of a strong word?
I've built and driven that many now they'll always have a special place in my heart I'll still be competing at TOTB with Team Vauxhall anyway - my best mate owns the quickest road legal FWD car in the country and i'm good friends with the other few really quick vauxhall's (those hitting the 11's with ease that is )
I just want another Ford as there is so much more support out there for them - loads more suppliers, decent clubs. shows to attend etc

na, hate is mild mate
ford do have have more support, thats is very true, but its because ford have had a lot of outstanding cars through the years, cars made by other compaines had a great following to, but these were mainly english cars, triumph, hilman etc things like vauxhalls didnt have such great deal of following, prob cos there $hit im just winding you up mate
but i really do hate vauxhalls, that aint no $hit

No mate, Tigra:

Thats me in the red overalls... lol. Personal best is an 11.3 @ 136mph. Won TOTB last year and was runner up the year before - stepped up to a GT35 this year but have lost a laod of torque as its coming on boost so late, got a new hot side to fit then we are back down to Essex in a few weeks to map it again Happy days!
If you take your blinkers off you'll probably find that Vauxhall have produced rather a lot of outstanding cars over the years too, but each to their own eh Ford has always been a much more 'British' marque than Vauxhall for some reason so has had a larger following over the years... cheap prices, relatively quick cars and huge availability of aftermarket parts helps though!
Us Vauxhall boys are so limited for places to go for good aftermarket parts its unreal - for example there is hardly anywhere to purchase a decent exhaust manifold for a turbo - most are chopped up Nissan SR20 items For a decent one it has to be custom made... whereas there seem to be plenty of companies doing manifolds for CVH's / Zetec's / later ST lumps etc.
Its all good fun though Thanks for the welcome folks.
Oh... should be going to have another look at the Fez tomorrow

, i can see what vauxhall have, outstanding isnt a word i would associate about a vauxhall myself, but they have produced some good cars i guess, i do like the look of the new astra SRI (i belive it is) i have to say, and i did at 1 point consider a zafira GSI turbo for the wife but i would never own one, purly for the fact of history with vauxhalls, and working on them and all that, cant help it, some people just hate ya know
but yeah i'll give ya that one that there is a "alright" vauxhall or 2 but i still hate them
anyway, getting past all the banter, get some pic's of the fiesta when you go over mate
