new mini vs si

hi,
my mate has a new mini ..... 1.6
i have a fiesta si ...... 1.4i
can i do anything to my engine to make me faster but that is insurance friendly?

even though the topic title is totally different to the question, the mini lol.

as for engine mods i know u can get a pipercross induction kit for the 1.4.

Yes, take it out and put a 2.0L Zetec in there instead.

Otherwise the mini will utterly trounce you

If Zetec, around 800 pounds all in, is too expensive for you, then I don't think there is another way...

Except NOS, may be?

new cam?

just fitted one to my Si deffo helps but timing is a little out i reckon so should get better onece properly set.

btw same cam fits as the XR2i Efi 1.6 ;)

also the XR2i has a bigger throttle body which will fit straight on but i dont know if that would cause other problems with fuelling and the ECU sensors etc?????
