Postby Gavlaahh23 on Sun Jun 05, 2011 11:40 pm

Hi everyone,

new here, my names Gavin.......

from south wales..... been looking round the site a bit the last few days thought i should join.

currently trying to get my 1991 Fiesta RS turbo on the road........

bought it thinking it just needed a turbo....... took it for M.O.T then hahahaha

currently had new rear arch on passengers side, welding on both outer sills. drivers side inner sill rebuilt.

new t3 turbo, all brake flexi hoses replaced and front callipers.

still got electrical faults, doesnt boost very well..... i got it to boost last time i had it out but then burnt a boost pipe. got a new one to fit tomorow.

im trying to save her hahaha

I work for Ensinger in Tonyrefail.

Their a plastic manufacturer haha, exciting stuff.

found holes in 2 pipes earlier, the one that goes to the actuator and the other little one that goes to the turbo, not sure what their called.

car runs alot better now, havent taken it up the road yet tho as its late and its un insured.

Yeah, first thing about maintaining a fiesta, get to know the guys at your local scrappy. Raid every fiesta you can of fuses, relays, screws, clips and anything else. If it looks mint or in good nick, have it. Heck, pull out wiring loom!

well i checked the fiesta and found a knackered relay i think, theres burn marks on the yellow casing. thought my civic may have a similar one....... hahaha wishfull thinking.

i didnt realise you have to buy them from ford either.

i know for a fiesta Si in a local scrappy, going to check that for relays on saturday..... :)

plodding along with it all...... hope this cures my electrical problems, just have an oil leak and a blowing exhaust to tackle then :)

hopefully she will be road worthy soon enough.

Doesn't have to be a Fiesta SI you get the relay off, they are all the same in the locations (or pretty much). So go find any fez and take the yellow relay.
