Newer 142bhp Mondy 2.0 Lumps?

Postby scarlet_pimp_mobile on Wed Dec 06, 2006 7:55 pm

I don't know how accurate the information given on the site parkers.co.uk is but it does say that the 2.0 engines in Mondeos produced after 2000 (i'm guessing in the mk3 mondeo) are 142bhp rather than the stated 136bhp in the mondeos listed from 93-00 on the same site. It also shows that some of the early mondy models had 128 and some 136, maybe some had been running the DEWY and one the DEEP ecus hence the opinion of some people that one performs better than the other?

However this is all rather vague, especially as the mk3 mondy didn't come out till 2001. :-? Anyone know for sure about any of this?

Can you tell the time for the 2.0 conversion is coming for me?

iirc there are issues with the PATS systems on these engines which is why most people opt for the earlier engines

Series one and two 2.0l's are 130ps.

Series three are 136ps.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

No mate, I've got an 1800 from an older conversion, and I have got all the bits to 130 spec it. Not a 2.0l but at least I know where the engine has been. That said, I'll probably get bored and find 2.0l at some point!
