Out of interest how did you find the P Zero Neros? Also how did the PAS cope with the track day?

I'll have to save for some eibach i think then!! I was also thinking of getting one of them sony headunits but cant really justify they money when it dont do to much more than the standard one. Plus i think they look a little pants as well lol

I maybe wrong, but I thought Alpine had an interface to connect to both steering wheel controls and the screen?

Unfortunately not the screen. Steering controls, yep, but the problem I have is that because the hole in the dash is bigger than double din it all looks a bit half arsed when you have to get fascia adapters etc. I'll probably warm to the idea at some point!

Tim - the P Zeros were a bit more slippery in the dry but that could have been that they were quite worn - in the wet it felt skittish and unstable. The T1R's have a lot more grip in the dry and in the wet, can't fault them really. The main difference is road noise though, the T1R's are so much quieter than the pirellis.

The PAS was whining a bit after the first track day at Lydden, but the fluid was fine, at Combe, there wasn't much of a whine at all and the fluid was still OK, but then they were only short sessions. I'd imagine a full day would require a fluid change though!

Defo put a little aside for the Eibachs - I can't describe how much of a difference it makes to the handling of it, it just sticks really well, I have full confidence in the corners.

I currently have P Zeros on and i hate them just no grip at all i will take a look at some T1r me thinks then. Have you been tempted to add a PAS rad in? Mine is terrible soon as i give it some beans it whines like a lil baby think i need to change the fluid first.

Cheers for the advice mate will deffo move the eibach up my list now!

yeah thats not the standard one nick my mu has that in hers and its that last limited edition model of the mk6 with all the extra's

It was standard from 2008 onwards for the last runs, optional before that (came with the tech pack). Also came standard on the Zetec Blue.

I've not had any need to put the PAS rad in just yet, after the fluid boiled the first time then I flushed it out and refilled its been fine since although the pump has been noisy at times lol. I just let it cool down a bit between long blasts lol

Sure it can, it's under a lot of pressure in use (pressure == energy == heat) and the system doesn't rely on a pressurised system to stop it boiling up (as your coolant system does).

As said yes it does its a design flaw really on the st no PAS rad and its also in a very bad position with pipes running close to engine so soo as you give it some beans it tends to boil the fluid.

i've got the sony option
the fiesta's which come with the sony headunit
come with upgraded speakers and bluetooth connected normally

the sound difference with the sony option is alot better quality, warmer sound with good bass and mid-range


the g/f has the standard 6000 radio in her new grey z-s mk6.5
it sounds very flat in comparison and is on the list of things to do

i'm personally deciding wether to go for the ford accessory/pioneer upgrade on the speakers all-round
bit of a gamble wether they will be better or not

I think that's more down to the speakers themselves rather than the stereo for the most part - my mate has a Zetec Blue with the Sony stereo with the upgraded speakers (I have the 6000CD and upgraded speakers) and there's not a lot in it.

They light up perfectly, fading in and out with the interior light, no wiring visible and all joints properly soldered with heat shrink

and properly sort out the cold air feed. Its currently wedged in with some insulating tape to keep it in place but I intend to get a slightly larger diameter pipe to hook up properly.
