Carbonboy67 :Glad to see its finally moving forward,
Stop fannying about with the paint and get it ready to thrash you couple homos
we are doing both mate! its very pink and covered in overspray at the mo, so needs some sorting!
we need to sort the wheels out too, ones on it catch on the coilovers, and the slicks catch them too. So its diff wheels or hubcentrics i think. Sure Paul will think of the best way thou, after all the wheels he has tried on the green one!

Re: Nomad and S1s trackcar. New cowner!
Spent a long overdue day on the trackcar with Paul today, in readiness for this years trackdays, of which i might actually do some.
First order of the day, make the drivers seat adjustable, it was previously mounted directly to the bars off the cage, fixing it in one place. If you know me and Paul then it will be obviously why this is not suitable now he coowns the car
So out with the seats and harnesses (2 pairs as one was just in the car on the seat) How mouldy is the pass seat!:
Had a think session with some runners and the side mounts.
Paul welded nuts into the bars, as captives to hold the bolts for the runners in place.
Adjustable bar cut in half and combined with another as the runners are now further apart than normal.
Seat in and adjustable, looking good!
Safety first!

Re: Nomad and S1s trackcar. Update 29/12/08
Next up was sorting the dash out from what was in there, basically a very rough cut down dash that I did as quick as poss to get to the last trackday I did. Basically its the same as the one in Pauls green beast. Looks lots neater. Sorry for the dark pics at end, ran out of light!
Also started getting rid of the massive amount of overspray on the out side of the car, muchus thinners!
And removed last of the vinyls. Before and after pics (not in order)

Yep, Just about!
Ive done a bit more on it over Christmas, when Dave was round last we found we had a bit of slack in the steering. I since traced that to none of the drivers side suspension being bolted up so I've tightened all that up as well as fit the lower "S" bracket that links both sides up. I've had a go at bleeding the brakes after we fitted braided hoses a few weeks back. Pedal is still soft though so we can have another go at the weekend. Ive been playing around with wheels and found the best solution out of all the wheels we have is some 6.5 X 15's with a 35 offset. We'll hopefully get some tyres on them so we can at least drive it. I'll probly try n paint them black as they are minging wheels!

Re: Nomad and S1s trackcar. Update 29/12/08
Me and Paul spent a very cold day getting some more done on the trackcar today.
The first order of the day was to sort the trackrod ends, hubnuts and lower arm pinch bolts, all in need of renewal. Pretty simple and not alot to say, heres a couple of pics for what its worth!
We also made a trip to the scrappy to get the pipes for the sunroof drains, which have gone missing at some point. Heres Paul removing them, no pic of them fitted, use your imagination Paul cut his finger, so he is now a Finger Slashing Moron, as opposed to his normal Finger Smashing Moron.
The main issue today was sorting the wheel situation out, the wheels on the car catch on the coilovers without spacers, and we dont wanna run those! We had already fitted the long studs to the front in readiness, so was just a case of selecting a set of wheels.
The white team dynamics I had in my garage fit perfectly so its those we shall use, just need to get a couple tires on for the front and swap the rears over from the old wheels. Glad to have this sorted, was beginning to stress me out!
We also did the tracking (cool to learn how to for me, I learn loads from Paul!), got the pads back on the seat and took the front bumper off (have another, slightly less ropey one to go on).
We also bled the brakes in the dark lol.
I think thats about it for todays work, prob forgotten something!

All good tho, finally got to drive it yesterday, albeit the massive distance from mine to me ma n pa's, a whole 200 yards and back.

Spare door for the shonky RS.
Max I think that is the OSF bracket mount. They bolt to the inner wing just above the chassis rail IIRC so it seems the right position.

Re: Nomad and S1s trackcar. Update 04/01/09.
I dropped a pair of wheels off this morning with baldies, picked em up this arvo with a fresh set of Toyo Proxes. The rear two are having a set of Falken's fitted from the myriad of spare wheels we have! I have found a Sparco bucket for the passenger seat so hopefully this weekend we should have it fully sorted and ready for our first trackday.
