The law changes tomorrow i understand and my brother said that my plates will then become illegal any plates that are not standard are illegal mine are very slightly different never been pulled over by police with them am i alright? whats the score??

i thought it was only new cars and plates that were affected!

Anyone read the thing about taxing by emmisions but only for newer cars, thats no way fair as mine is clean but will still be done on engine size due to its age!

The old standard plates are still legal..

Even if the law does apply to older cars, most coppers should be ok if you aren't taking the wee-wee, like really thin italics. Or unless you've been speeding or something and they want to book you for whatever they can prove.

Bloke near me with a mk4 fez has REALLY thin italic numbers with a huge ford badge in the background. You can't even tell he has anything other than the ford badge on the plates til you're 20 yards away, you can't read em til you're 10 yards away!
