pace cooler (please give your oppinion)

Postby paradox on Thu Aug 03, 2006 1:53 pm

I bought a pace double capacity intercooler from ebay (the person is also a member on here)

When it arrived and i unpacked it i found it to be damaged and not as described.
When i contacted the person to highlight the problem he said it was not damaged and that i was a serial whinger trying to pull a fast one.

I will post some pics of the cooler below but i wont say what i think is damaged as i dont want to bias peoples responses.

If someone owns a pace cooler and could compare mine against theres that would be great.

I am not trying to stir up trouble on the site hence i have not posted the persons name i just feel very dissapointed in the response ive had from the seller and i want other people to confirm for me if the intercooler is in fact damaged as i think it is.

The fins on the cooler were described as being bent in the auction so im fine with that.

yeah the bracket has snapped, but nothing someone who can weld alloy couldnt sort out for next to nothing!

i know it dont help but as far as i can see the cooler will hold boost and the pipes will hold it pretty solid anyways.

yep, its broken. and theres a missing bracket on the side at the top, although id have to say that he may not have known that depending if he's had it from new id guess. at the end of the day, if he didnt say it was broken then he didnt desribe it properly.

Thank you those are the two faults that i have with it one mounting lug has snapped and is missing and the other one has snapped

It was not described as being damaged in that way and obviously im not just whining or trying to pull a fast one on the seller.

Looks like im now left with a broken intercooler that im going to have to pay out to get repaired.

get onto ebay and dispute the item's condition and also paypal if you used them.

may kick him into doing omething, even if it is a token gesture to go towards the cost of repairs, may be a solution to the prob and suitable for both sides?

I contacted him through a paypal dispute and escalated it to a claim later on.

Paypal have said i need to get a intercooler company to inspect the item and write a letter stating the damage and the typical cost of repair.

THis is where im going to lose out and the person that missold me the item gets away with it.

There are no intercooler companys near me and i cant drive to far because of my illness.

so by the time ive paid for posting the cooler to a company then paid for them to inspect it and paid for them post it back to me plus the percentage of the refund i lose to paypal for handling the case and plus the postage and repair cost to get it fixed if i did get my refund it dosent make finacial sense to do all that as i would be very much out of pocket by the end of it all.

Well i hope the sellers enjoying spending my money and i hope karma kicks in and the seller gets ripped off soon so he will know what it feels like
