performance advice..
as a few of you may now be aware, im a proud owner of a little xr2i 1.6 and its my project for the track..
i also own an ibiza cupra 20vt running 230-240bhp
but ive bought the xr2i for track...
what mods can be done to these little engines?
can the inlet be changed?
are there any simple mods that come off other cars that go onto this one that make a big difference...
10mm spacers in each corner increase road stability?
4x4cossie brakes i hear are a must... so i'l need 15's
its going to be bare with 2 buckets
any suggestions or anything please, id like your input
thanks

Re: performance advice..
All comes down to budget mate.
My old 8v XR2i made a smidge over 130bhp with :
Ashley exhaust manifold 4-2-1
Custom stainless exhaust (not PowerFlow tat)
Piper 285 camshaft and vernier pulley
Polished and ported cylinder head
K&N
Superchip
No mileage to be gained from changing the inlet on these engines and it certainly wouldn't be cost effective. As with any car start with getting it breathing right and go from there. Chances are being a CVH the cam will be well past its best.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

the throttle body setup would cost me close to 2k with mapping before engine and fitting...
surley theres a n/a engine pushing close to 150 bhp that fits in easy?
