I have a 1.8 16v 2i and done a lot of research in tuning.

CATS are restritive - but on if your pushing more than 175bhp i believe.

Have a CAT on the zorst helps because it removes that nasty nova-style rasping noise.

Might be worth investigating if the cat from a highly tuned car, e.g. Escy Cos, Volvo T5, etc, would work better due to the increased cross-secional size ;)
