Got myself a 1.1 classic quartz. Pretty much got two projects on the go here, my own for modifying it, and another raising money for Cancer Research Image

Image

Image
Shortly After Painting the rear panel of the car, the idea is for a minimum of a £1 donation, people can sign and show their support for the cause

Image
As of early February

Image

Image
Fitted a new spoiler

Image
Got a feature in the local paper

Image

Image
Debadged the rear

Image
Then the car got broken into, nothing stolen though :/

Image

Image
Fitted a new Sub hi-jacked from a land rover

Watch this space for more updates. Donations are sat at over £100 now, going to be painting the door very soon, and i will be at Fiesta in the Park if anyone wants to get involved :)

Some of you may have heard, but i ground the engine to a halt through lack of oil :dickhead: anyway, chris179 on here very kindly donated his old 1.1 for the cause. Well we started work on it today, and got pretty damn far to be honest XD

Image
got the engine on a hoist, ready to put on the stand

Image
it looked a bit worse for wear, but thought we could work with it

Image
we got the rocker cover and cylinder head off to assess the damage inside

Image
it was worse than we thought :/

Image
started stripping the whole engine down to the block, to try and free the pistons

Image
fortunately, the bottom end is absolutely mint, so we can still go somewhere with it.

plans now are getting the pistons free of the block, and then taking it to a local milling company to get it re-bored, hopefully wont be too much bob.

Little update, just bought an engine for £140, not cheap, but hell, it was my only option left save for a swap, but wouldn't be able to insure it. Hopefully that'll be with us next week and we can get perry back on the road!

oh don't, i've had enough trouble as is! the ebay shop selling it is a scrappers, i found there website and they were selling it there for £120, so i thought i had 'em. it wasn't until i got to checkout that they were like, oh btw, £42 delivery. It comes with a 60 day warranty though, so thats at least some sign that it'll be ok

Well we're emptying the bay at the moment while we wait for delivery. most of those extra bits are off now, all thats left is the alternator and a few pipes nearer the bottom of the block. We can then disconnect the gearbox

Got loads of bits ordered like some new sparks, oil filter, timing chain and a few gaskets, fan belt was on its way out as well so thats been replaced. all thats left is chucking this stuff on and bashing the new engine inside. its all coming together finally ^_^

well it was a professional job, both locks were drilled out. i'm going to assume they did the passenger lock first, as that lock was fooked anyway, and you can't even open it with the key. so they smashed it to f**k and did the drivers door. alarm must've gone off as they opened the bonnet, disconnected the battery and ripped the speaker from its stand. you can see the bent frame on the left of the bay.

and no, the only show he ever takes it to is the stoneleigh kit car show, and he only properly finished it last summer. quality motor though, sounds gorgeous!

their target was a snap-on van, over £50k worth of tools. we can only presume they intended to use my car as a getaway, but a nearby motorhome was easier to break into.

well the engines fitted and eventually fired, took a bit of dicking around with the hoses mind. Only problem is, it idles at about 2500-3000 rpm, anyone got any ideas what it could be?

bloody hell the those twocers did a real nasty mess of those locks, and use your car as a getaway car? i mean in the world of high powered astras, vectras, insignia's even ford focus cop cars and maybe the scary scooby, evo's and st220's how on earth would they getaway in a 1.1 fiesta?? seriously! some theives are actually dumb. but maybe in a sense you could delock the car now and install a remote central locking kit

i would if i had the money! stone broke at the minute though :/ and because of all the mishaps the car is in nowhere near show spec. haven't even managed to paint the door. So if you want to donate, you can, but you'll have to find a spot on the wing. Oh yeah, the car runs now! turns out the clip for the throttle cable had shuffled down slightly, it was simply holding the throttle half open! sometimes its the most trivial things!

Some more artsy shots for you to mock my lack of photographic prowess

Image
All the gunk away now, and a new lock fitted. Bit rough, but at least i can secure the car now.

Image
All red rear lights, look a bit orange in this shot still, may give them another light coat...

Image
Subtle FiestaGuides Sticker

Image
New Badge, I love how this works with the car, massive improvement

So there you go guys, gotta get low next ^_^
