Pics of new bits to go on my car - updated!
Hi guys,
fiesta-jim's just sent me some pics of the 1.9 bottom end I'm buying off him along with the new stage 2 T3 turbo!
You can just make out the cutback rotors on this next one
I'll be taking pics as the engine goes in - there's also a new Escort RST gearbox with LSD going in - I'm running a poll on which LSD I should go for here:
http://www.fiestaturbo.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=68903
Pictures of the car before I blew the bottom end up can be seen here:
http://www.fiestaturbo.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=54765
Let me know what you think!
Andy

Yeah,
I hope to get pictures of the car showing the job of getting the new engine on, etc.
Should be doing that next week!
Crikey - I'm like a little kid all excited over getting it done!

One thing I've learned about my Fiesta Turbo is don't try to add up how much you've spent in total on the car.
But going against my own rules the figure is well over 6k now (not including cost of the car!)
Car cost me £2800
RS2000 wheels cost me £180
Set of 4 Yoko AVS tyres £180
AVO coilover suspension £500 approx
Strut brace £45
Rear discs £200 but spent a further £250 replacing the secondhand bits with new!
Escort Cosworth front discs and calipers £200
Pace chargecooler £250 secondhand (further £20 to get local alloy fabrication company to weld cracked bracket!)
Goodridge braided hoses £35 or so
AP fast road clutch - £250 or so
2 new Yoko tyres after cutting 2 in half (http://www.fiestaturbo.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=47466) £90
Head unit (free after taking out of my last XR2i runaround)
Kenwood KFC-PSR71P Dual-mag components with passive crossovers £120
Kenwood KFC-HQ718 7"x10"s £120
Kenwood KVX-5 LCD screen £78
Kenwood KFC-W1225DB 12" sub - boxed £160
Alpine V-Power MRP-F200 £150 (paid too much for that - wanted it there and then though!)
Belkin DC to AC converter for PS2 £40
Kenwood CD-Aux in cable for getting PS2 sound into stereo £28
Cabling for stereo £100
Audioscape doorpods £180
New wheels to clear cossie brakes £380
fiesta-jim's 1.9 bottom end £1200
fiesta-jim's turbo £300
http://www.gearboxman.co.uk's stage 2 gearbox with Quaife diff £1018 delivered
HD head bolts £35
Felpro head gasket £40
Vibra-technics gearbox mounts £100
Bailey oil seperator £105
Polished rocker cover £130
That totals £9134 including the car (so that's £6300 without actually paying for the car!) and that doesn't even include running costs like servicing and fitting costs for some of the bits!
I've got another £700 to spend on the rest of the alloy bits for the engine bay and Samco hoses - then around another £1000 on getting the car mapped properly with bigger injectors!
Then maybe it's time for the bumpers to be smoothed a bit and have it de-striped along with Escort Cosworth alloys?
What's another £2k eh?

Right - got the engine and turbo back in the 1.1 today, it's amazing what Fiestas can do
Here's the engine, a Specialised Engines stage 2 lightened and balanced 1.9 CVH bottom end
I've been doing a readup on the turbo and with what fiesta-jim tells me this little baby is made up from Toyota Celica GT-four internals with cut-back rotor blades (see close up images). Jim also was kind enough to give me the Escort RS Turbo exhaust manifold and heat-wrap
Compare the last picture with the diagram from Turboforce (below):
I'll be posting up pics of all the other Bailey alloy bits once I've managed to get Jay at XFactor to take my order (got a Mongoose exhaust planned too!)
Sorry to keep boring you guys!
Cheers,
Andy

I'm just in the process of sprucing my turbo-charge carrier up so thought I'd take pics of it as I went along!
Here you go:
One manky turbo charge carrier removed from oily messy engine (blew bottom end up and dipstick and oil cap were blown clean out of head!)
One cleaned up charge carrier (will need to keep scrubbing and using wet and dry to bring up the rest nice and shiny - along with lots more polish!)
Masked off ready for the primer:
and here's the first couple of coats of primer!
What do you think?
I'm doing the charge carrier in Peugeot Royal Blue as it looks quite a close colour to the Samco hose blue.
Cheers,
Andy

Sure thing mate - it'll be a while as I've got to do the following things yet:
- Get the head off the old engine and put it on the new lump (will also have to decarb the valves and check everything over on the head too)
- Put the rebuilt engine in the car
- Reposition the radiator to fit the T3 in nicely
- Get the car running on standard management with T3 so that I can get Gadget to fit the Cossie management
- Get the new gearbox and diff in the car (when it arrives!)
- Get the car mapped by Grove Garage
- fit the new wheels!
I'll let you know when it's done!
Cheers,
Andy

Right - I've just applied the paint now and will have to wait for it to dry before I take all of the masking off (probably tomorrow now).
Will have to post new pics of how that comes out (I bet I'll have to sand loads of paint off where it's run under the masking - bugger!)
Cheers,
Andy

I've taken the masking off and it looks pretty good - although there are a couple of bits that I'm not happy with (I should be able to touch these up without too much trouble).
Picture of the charge carrier (still drying):
Picture of charge carrier with the masking off - need to sand off excess paint/primer and touch up edges of the R, B and O:
So in the end it went from to
I'm quite happy with that
Cheers!

Right - Samco hoses arrived today and my new Mongoose exhaust arrived shortly afterwards which is nice! Oh, almost forgot the Bailey swirl pot arrived too!
Here are some pics to bore you to death, lol
T3 Turbo Hoses:
Fiesta turbo coolant Hoses:
Bailey Swirl pot:
I've gone for a 4" rolled out Mongoose exhaust to go on when the car's finished - apparently it's less restrictive than the Scorpion exhaust I have on the car at the moment.

lol - yeah.
I've got a Fujifilm 2800Z and pretty much limitless rechargeable NiMh batteries for it, bought very cheaply from http://www.7dayshop.co.uk.
You should see the amount of digital camcorder footage I've got of nothing in particular, lol!
I got my camera (Sony DCR TRV19) pretty cheap from http://www.berridgemail.co.uk
It certainly is a lovely feeling getting the stuff land on your doorstep (although most of the stuff for the car I have to answer the door for - especially the exhaust! Didn't realise how big it is until you try and carry one around! )

Hi - yet more pics!
This is all that most of you will be seeing of my car when I get it all back together!
and another to show how much baffling is done by the backbox!
Oh, and here are some pics I found of the Focus I used to own before it got written off by some twonk pulling out in front of me!
His car was only a couple of weeks old, but I think I got him pretty good

Here's some pics of the work Gadget has been doing on the inlet manifold for me
Oh, here's the coil and my nice little air filter
Should look lovely with the rest of it when all plumbed in!
