PiperX induction kit doesnt sound right!
Ive just fitted a pipercross induction hope to my xr2i 16v in the hope i would get a nice roar after but it doesnt at all i cant hear it sucking it in any air so i was wondering if i hadent fitted it right
The only thing i could think about that i havent done right was there was some breather pipe that it said to connect to it but i wasnt sure what that was, could this make it so it doesnt roar as much?.
my mates got one on his 106 xsi and its well loud
Cheers, Nick

I fitted a escort GTi one to my 1.8 zetec.
It made a very slight roar - well more of a Mmmmrrrr at about 6,000 rpm.
Just dont think they suit the zetecs.
cheers

Nick if you haven't connected the breather pipe what is it connected to in your engine bay now? Don't let it stay un-filtered, either fix it to the air filter or buy a seperate breather filter for it, you don't want bits of dirt getting in your engine, that WILL make some funny noises
The breather shouldn't make any difference to the noise, its simply allowing the rise and fall of pressure in the engine to escape and stops the head bolts flying out.
Zetecs don't seem to react hugely to more air flow, probably cos on standard management (even with a superchip obviously in your case) they're designed to be economical and won't dump in loads more fuel like a CVH would. My K&N made a noticeable difference in engine tone but it wasn't a sudden roar or anything, on idle it sounds exactly the same.
Have you fitted a ducting pipe to feed air to the filter? That should help get more air to it, take it from the bottom of the engine bay in front of the gearbox
