piston skimming

Postby SimonT on Tue Feb 17, 2004 10:28 am

i know its not the best thing to do but

A 1.8 zetec's comp ratio is 10:1

An Ideal comp ratio for a low (8psi) boost zetec turbo would be about 8.2:1

How muh would needed to be skimmed from each piston to get the comp ratio to this level?

2mm m8, not worth it - get a spacer plate then you retain all the crown strength

I think you're best off checking this link out here - the guy's selling the necessary plates to carry out the conversion I think you are after.
