does 0.5 stamped on the top of a frst piston idicate that its over sized?

and if it does what would it make the capacity of the frst engine i have?

also do standard frst pistons have machined cut outs in them to clear the valves when there fully open because the pistons i have in my engine have these machined cut outs

cheers for the help tony

thats strange about the pistons then i wonder why mine are like that?

the engine is a recondition one from ford so i thought they would have used standard type pistons all be it oversized due to the rebore
