Max, stop dragging every topic off post with your inccessant posting/ flirting with summer. Wayne hun.
As for motorbikes they are great but:
Retraining, doing a test which is really hard, plus you'll need a CBT to train not just a provisional.
Insurance on a bike isn't much cheaper than cars ( ) untill you get old enough to afford the high power ones. Some exceptions of course, like my mate who's 18 with now 3 bikes
They aren't as safe due to the amount of idiots on the roads.
You wouldn't want to be on one in the winter.
You have to walk around dressed like a gimp (this could be an advantage to some )
Oh and they don't have any ice unless you fancy the 1tonne Honda Gulwing
All in all there's nowt you can do, its just a mid-life crisis. I suggest stopping smoking to prolong lifespan

Thanks for the "advice" Tom
I want a bike for the fun factor, less traffic queue worries, less parking trouble, better A-B times, and if I really want, I can park it in the hallway at night

before i start, i must say some of you are very sad indeed
i actually went out this morning to southampton looking at a couple of bikes GSX-R600 (insurance will cripple me ) and an RVF 400 (supposed to be one of the best handling bikes going )
ill start looking properly later on in the year, altough for practicalities sake i will probably go for a Fazer 600 or an enduro style bike

My lasses uncle has one of them. So comfy! Her family actually build trikes. Mental stuff! Maybe going over to america in october if i can afford it but i doubt it.
One of my bosses at work is building a trike. Gonna have a 1600cc Beetle engine in it!

Not a big fan of bikes meself, but if i was gonna get one it'd have to be a big fat cruiser - Harley ElectraGlide or Honda Goldwing for me more 2-wheel car than bike
dunno, i guess I just prefer cars, can't put a finger on why, they just look nicer to me there again, i wouldn't advise against buying a bike, they're very good VFM where bang-for-buck is concerned.
