Polished head and kent cams on standard management

Postby XRoriginal on Sat Apr 21, 2007 3:47 pm

Hey peeps

I have an rs1800 mk3.5. Have just acquired a gas flowed and ported head and some Kent FZ1802 Cams and pullies. Would this all run on standard management (with a superchip) and I'd notice a gain in performance - or would it need setting up.

Reason I ask is I thought it was the former but have been told otherwise by grove garage (was told that it would infact lower power!).

Help appreciated :)

a chip off the shelf would'nt be that ideal as their meant for standardish engines such as exhaust and air filter,

to get the most out of the headwork and cams you need to have it remapped!!

Sure - I can understand that :) .

However, given that these are fast road cams, would I notice a positive difference with standard management?

Thanks. :)

fast road cams are fine with standard management, it when you upgrade to rally or race cams them you will need a management change and a swap to throttle bodies
