Cheers ladies
Can't do much at the moment, unfortunately, as I've got a bit of a back problem and really need to rest it to save doing some permanent damage... Bit of a pain for me (no pun intended) because I'm someone who, inbetween sleeping and eating , loves to be doing things!
Will update with more as soon as possible though
Stay tuned!

Oooh, haven't posted anything in here for a while...
Not much of an update, but went and did a rolling road day with a local VAG group yesterday
Did two runs:
Run 1 - 129.0 bhp @ 6,434 rpm / 135.6 lbft @ 1,503 rpm (Yes, whoops!... Was a bit of a dodgy one that, but looking at the graph the correct reading was about 118 lbft @ 5,300 rpm ish).
Run 2 - 131.9 bhp @ 6,887 rpm / 116.8 lbft @ 5,341 rpm
Think they're a little optimistic to be honest, and was expecting more around the 120 mark, but the fuelling was very good so still happy nonetheless
Will scan the printout when I get a chance and post it up.
More to come soon

Nice figures. So want mine doing, everyone seems to be having them done recently and I feel left out!

Well I got mine for £30 as there were 20 cars going (think there was more than that in the end), so thought I'd try it. I had hoped to have my manifold back on in time, but I never get any free time anymore to do anything
The mad thing is, on both runs, the run was stopped at roughly peak power, so there may have even been a tiny bit more to come. I think they were too afraid to keep going to 7K+... Sod it, I would have! Not quite sure what was going on there though, because I can't see it making peak power as high as it did anyway.

James, I would have loved to come down to your place, but it's so far away I hardly get 5 minutes to do anything these days, let alone a good day to drive a few hundred miles and back

Torque seems low / high up the revs! Did they not take it to the limiter? Thought that was standard practice!
Glad you got it done at last though and at least the fuelling is ok!

Me too
Max - The torque is low on these anyway, but I think it's about right... I should have told him to take it all the way to 7,100, but for the purposes of the power run, I don't think it was really necessary anyway. Will try and get the printout posted up tonight

Need to do a proper post soon, but had a couple of hours spare today so thought I'd go take some photos
Car's looking pretty rough at the moment, though Unfortunately, a young girl drove into the back of me a couple of weeks back, so the bumper and rear valance (which were about the only perfect bits of bodywork on the car ) are nolonger so perfect Rust is really starting to come through in a number of areas too, and I had to do a rather fast repair on the rear driver's side sill for the MOT which is far from great!
Other than that, the car is now a little lower, and also on silver steels...

Cheers for all the positive comments people Especially with the wheels. I've been wanting to do them for ages but was a bit slow acting!
Think I'll be keeping the bumpers white now that I've seen it lower with the silver wheels, but obviously need to repair the rear one where it got smacked the other day. Once the bodywork is sorted properly I'll be happy
Really need to get started with the engine work, though... Loads of ideas and nothing seems to be happening yet!
Incidentally, not too obvious, but the back box has now been replaced with a genuine Ford 16v item which suits it so much better, I think. But I need to think about a better system really as I can feel how much the pattern mid section strangles the top end compared to the Magnex turbo system I had fitted earlier in the year. I think a decent 16v Magnex system will do the job nicely and then I'll try and do something tidy with the tailpipe
Also got a larger Escort master cylinder on the way which will go on when the Zetec S rear beam and brakes go on which should help nicely!
More stuff to come too
