hi guys i'd like to know how much power can i expect by modifyng my 1.3 HCS motor, since swap to 2.0 Zetec isn't really an option as i live in Italy (read: reaaaally illegal). so...what can i do?

to be honest there is not alot out there for the HCS engine, an uprated cam, air filter, exhaust are about the limits unless you want to spend huge amounts of money.

mmh...and what about putting there some bigger throttle bodies? or a bigger carburettor? i'm a noob of mechanic so i'm not sure even if it's possible .

i dont know whether your engine is fuel injected or carbs, but i suppose some porting of the throttle body, the head, maybe release a few horse power, but your chasing shadows mate, its not worth the effort.

You could add the full works to a HCS and it might go up by 1bhp if you're lucky.

You would have to spend a fortune on work and gain very little on the 1.3

exactly what tweek said ive had a 1.3hcs for 2 years now. just drill the airbox get a nice sound from it but thats all u can do really [ERRR] otherwise its just a waste of money
