Really winds me up how MOTs are subjective in some areas; noise being one of them. In all honesty, it strikes me that this is chasing soft targets to make the numbers up.

My brother reminded me earlier when I had the mx5 it got an advisory for 'very hard suspension' so don't let them tell you there's any problems with that either. Not that they should as zs suspension is soft as anything lol

Its up to the tester if its unreasonably above the level though.

No, it's not a lambo.

It's also one of the pitfalls of modifying. Better to say no louder than 100db @ 3m & 4000rpm (or something that's actually measurable). All you need is a prick of a tester to not like your face (or fail to get it up the night before) and that's it, you've s**t the pot. Said before, will say again, the MOTs need a proper looking at in these terms; if you get ANY perforation in some areas of the car it's an instafail, so why not be equally objective when it comes to everything else!

Okay So, I Got My Car Back Today With A Full MOT Passed, It's Been In The MOT Garage For 2 Weeks Because Of A Fault With The ABS... First Problem Was The ABS And Engine Light Didn't Light Up When The Ignition Was Turned On, So They Took Out The Circuit Board Behind The Dials Only To Find There Was NO Bulbs And Has Been Unsoldered, So Had To Have A Set Of Dials With A Circuit Board Secondhand From Another MK5 ZS That Has Been Written Off Local To Me... Once That Was Fitted The Engine Light Was Fine That Turned Off But The ABS Stayed On, And So They Had To Track Down The Fault, They Checked EVERYTHING And They Said "We Are Going To Try One More Thing, If We Can't Find The Problem We Can't Help Anymore And Will Be Down To The Ford Garage" ££££ But Luckily I Had A Phone Call Today To Say They Have Found The Fault, I Don't Remember What It Was They Said But It's Like An ECU But A Tiny One For The Brakes?, So Yeh That Got Replaced Again, Secondhand From This Written Off ZS...

The EXHAUST = Passed With Flying Colours, The Noise Is Fine And Not Loud At All According To The Exhaust Emissions Tester...

So She Is Back On The Road Where She Belongs!
