Project DTR - * Update 22.10.2014 *
UPDATE
Well with the Gearbox totally wrecked the gear selector smashed it was time for a new box!
So the hunt began. After talking to a few people i decided to go for a s2 box because of the lsd so..........
I phoned a few companys and had no luck either just sold it or not selling it anymore!
Untill i looked on Passionford and one come up at a decent price with a recon and lowish milage
So that was sent and then was time to get my dad to get it in on the ramps today!
So up on the ramps it went!
Wheels off (cossie brakes + Koni's)
Then after a few bolts here and there with the normal problems as fords tend to bring the car was starting to get there!
few more bolts out and bit of playing around with the stands..............
Then fianlly after having trouble with the passenger side driveshaft it was out with the help of a few mates
Old nearside - New farside
New box
Well whislt that was making us work hard and tired it was time for lunch! and off to get some gearbox oil!
Then after lunch i decide to see what i could find wrong with the chassis and after prodding around i founf not such good news
1. My s/s manifold has cracked, think because it doesn't have any flex in it at all!
2. THIS
DAMM TIN WORM!
so that was treated and will be looked at very shortly for a nice new patch!
Anyway back to the Gearbox!
The process of putting the box back was a bit easier to lift when using are good old friend KILLER
That made life 10x easier Then it was just a matter of bolting it all back together whislt trying to put the damm abs back together
Finally it all went back together and filled it all up with gearbox oil!
Job done!
OH NO!
It started to leak out of the driverside driveshaft Totally gutted so much hard work yet for it all to be taken apart again!
Oh well will learn a lesson! never believe the seller and rememeber to always replace the easy cheap parts!
Comments welcome as always
Cheers

Grrrr, nothing goes to plan, does it?! Least it'll be worth it in the end
Bloody manifolds always seem to die too Think I'll end up fitting a flexi in mine, which I didn't really want to do...
