Hello all...
I finally picked up the manifold,
Test fitted it on the spare engine i have got and noticed that it is going to foul the crossover pipe...
After looking different meathods i think i have found one. As used on the KA
So fingers crossed i can find one of these pipe...
Back to the engine it was time to start stripping it down i can can get the block and and sent to the machine shop do i can get the pistons measured up.
Then head off...
Block seperated from gearbox ready to be lifted out...
Parts removed
Stage 3 T3
Pro Alloy Front Mount...
Hopefully get the block out this weekend or next week and can get the engine bay tidyed up and painted...
Cheers

Re: Project DTR * Engine Removal 18.05 *
Update....
Been a few weeks but finally got the block out.... Stripped it down...
Whilst stripping out we found the cause of the engine to fail... no4 conrod bolt had fallen out...
Causing the bearing to spin out and making a right mess off the crank...
Over next few weeks head going off to be tested cleaned and skimmed, Block off to be cleaned and find out how much work is needed then can get Pistons and rods ordered with matching bearings..
So fingers crossed over next few weeks the engine will get slowly built up and the changes will happen...
Cheers

TIL13R :Yea ARP's are on the list....
At 6200+ rpm on my car, the reciprocal load on the factory big end bolts exceeds their stated combined clamping force. ARPs are also on my shopping list.
Nothing to see here...

Re: Project DTR * Block Removal 31.05 *
I'm going to forged internals next year so I'll be using arp (or equivalent strength) fasteners throughout the engine build and helicoiling quite a lot of the head for improved strength. The rods & pistons are about 5g heavier than the factory items, so the uprated fasteners are a must in any event

Looking good. Not sure on the crackle paint. Seems to be popular with quite a few things now though!
But it sure is different, so it's a winner
