Project DTR - * Update 22.10.2014 *
Re: Project DTR * Inlet & Intercooler 18.06 *
Hello all....
Another small update, Block has been sent off to Headline MK - http://www.headlinemk.co.uk/ to be checked over and find out size can be bored too... Then i can contact Jano @ Oddkidd to order my pistons and rods
In the mean time i have been stripping down the inlet ready to clean up and paint....
Cleaned all out in parts washer 1st, then washed excess off with a scotch and thinners and finally flatted down with 320 grit paper...
All preped and warm in the booth ready for painting....
Once left to dry over the weekend and de masked looks like this
Really happy again how they have all come out... Final bit of prep work was for my Pro Alloy front mount
Same again bit of 320 grit to key it up....
On stand ready for its satin black paint job....
After drying.....
and de masked...
Looks 1000% better than it did Stealth...
Comments welcome as always....
Cheers

Haha yea it did last well.... Just with the silver bit poking out the top of the bumper i wanted a bit more of a stealth look.... lol....
Cheers i like to try and get the best finish possible and help with the acess to the spray booth to get items to temp so paint sticks and goes off well...
Will be a few more parts this weekend also...
I know its not to everyones taste but its alot less cleaning under the bay....

stainless you mean mate
tbh, i was thinking that, and im 50/50 on it.
i got the same stainless cover but with a ford badge cut out of it, dunno if mine would look good in black or not, but the one like what you got with the RS TURBO cut out, yeah, im feeling it more in the black

Re: Project DTR * Baffled Sump & More painting 26.06 *
take the two 13mm bolts out, and then pop the rail off, all thats holding it on is the O rings on the injectors, start one end rather than try and pull the whole thing off in one hit.
when refitting, use brand new seals (which i know you will) and very lightly smear them with oil to aid them sliding in.
pop the injectors in the inlet, then push the rail down on the injecotrs, again, start one end, but keep the angle shallow as not to force the injecotrs over at much of a angle, it will go on in the end.
you prob find it could be easier with the top half of inlet off, or the TB, but it can be done with them in place.
make sure there all seated right before bolting it down, a small gap between the faces where they bolt is alright as it will pull it down, but dont try bolting it down to pull it onto the injectors

Another parts update....
Well after taking all my hoses off the car all looking grubby i decied to clean them up a bit....
After a quick wipe down they come up really well....
Next was to check and clean up the injector loom...
Cleanned all the wires free of sticky glue, also the same on the casing.
Old tape...
All wrapped...
Now for the fuel rail, Spent a few hours polishing it up with autosol...
Also a brand new set of 701's to fit too....
Another nice brand new purchase was these....
Finally got a new Group A Cosworth filter too...
Should be also recieving my Baffled sump tomorrow, Collecting my pistons, rods & bearings on monday then down the machine shop... then re rebuild begins....
Cheers

Rhinopower :What power are you aiming for?
Hopefully this time round on standard management would like a good solid 200bhp... then with management and new injectors next year i would like to achive the 250bhp barrier...
