Right well i have just had a converstation with my engine tuner and there is a problem with oil getting to the head, they started it up with the standard hydrloic lifters and there wasnt much oil getting to the head, so they think that it could be one of thr oil galliers!

Any other ideas people?

cheers

A guy i know once rebuilt a ford cvh engine and he had the same thing with problems with oil pressure.

In the end they tried everything and - no luck..... until they striped it down and saw the oil pickup pipe was blocked hence why no oil was getting to the head etc.

Just a thought - sounds very similar to your troubles....

That's quite a common problem with CVH engines!

It's a shame that it's hard to get the sump gaskets to seal properly when putting them back together, but it's definitely worth checking and cheaper than replacing parts only to find the problem is still there.

Check the mesh on the pickup pipe - it's there to pick up crap but if that fills up then you'll get no oil up the pipe!

Cheers,

Andy

UPDATE

FINALLY IT IS RUNNING AGAIN

Well the outcome was not good to say the least! :( It was all cause from a not cleaned out Powder Coated Rocker Cover!

Basically we think from the process of the powercoating the sand and grit that is used wasn't cleaned at all from under the baffles of the CVH rocker cover! :(

Therefore when the engine was started and the cam run in etc.... all the lose grit and sand etc.. was flushed straight through the engine and ended up in the sump causing alot of damage :(

New parts that were replaced are

New Camshaft (kent cvh22)
Solid Lifters
Main Bearings
Big end bearings
and all the other parts were taken off and totally washed and cleaned out by Frankenstien Motorsport

So basically the moral of this story is make sure all of the parts and totally cleaned out if they are powdercoated!

Cheers

Argh poo dude, it's a major major hazard of powder coating. Be it oil breathers/cam covers/sumps/brake calipers...that stuff gets EVERYwhere :(

Anyway, the main thing is you've resolved it and you're off again! Ignore the crap (it happens, after all), you've learned from it and you're back on track now :) FITP? :aviator:

Well if you'd said "I'm just about to fit this rocker cover that's just been sand blasted", it might've made me think to suggest cleaning it thoroughly for ages!! :(

Im sorry but the rocker cover was totally cleaned! the only way to actually fix this problem is to cut the rocker cover open and do it that way! even now i will get pics of the dirt and grit from inside!

Thanks

To be fair I have spoken to several of my customers, who have had these covers fitted for a long time about this. They all did the same thing, and cleaned the covers (on my advice) before fitting, some found stuff under the baffle, others didn't. The ones that did, cleaned it out and are using the cover to this day. Its perfectly possible to clean the baffle area.

I don't think Rhinopowers Nob comment was aimed at you, more so the person saying "don't trust anyone on FT" which was clearly a dig at me, being as I supplied the cover (in case noone knew / had guessed).

In anycase, I am glad you have sorted it, and that your car is now running right. :)

Some stands are so pants...like ours at Ford Fair in 2005. You can have some pretty darn individual cars all bunched together (and mine ) yet they all blur into "a stand of Fiestas". Yours stood out among that bunch in my opinion, those wheels really did make it look different. Funny how the smallest choices can transform a car, yet so many of us fail to make them

Cheers Fella,

Yea i loved my old wheels it did suit the car down to the ground too me a long time to find the wheel i liked! ;)

And when the Cossie brakes came along i had to have them fitted but was a shame they didnt fit with the old wheels :( So the hunt began for new wheels that are different but yet still suit the car and not OTT!

I was going to put the Later spec saph cossie wheels (sharktooth) on with diamond cut lip with a balck insert but in the end the 3dr wheels come up on ebay painted black and dimond cut already :)
