well the week before christmas i've been doing the odd hour on the fiesta after work
when i've had time,
so thought i'd post up some progress on the stripping

engine bay looking a little more bare
Image

some parts removed from the bay,
winscreen washer bottle, power steering rack and pipes, anti roll bar complete, rear engine mount
Image

got the carpet and near new underlay out
(i had brand new last time the car was put back together after the bodywork)
Image

trying to make the car as light as possible for the car spit
so doors off, windscreen out, tailgate off etc
Image
Image

also put my car spit together ready

some nice progress there mate

should be good to have all that access to underneath

thought id let you know my engine arrived today, stripped it down to just the engine, block sump and head

pricing up some gaskets, wondered if i could ask what you'd suggest, more expensive but better quality genuine ford parts?

or cheaper patterns?

im on a tight budget :oooh:

the engine bay going as far back under the floor as the gear selector is being seam welded
to make sure the shell can handle the new power,
going off ian howells reccomendations
so it was easier to strip the bloody lot out,

i wont be having it blasted, i'm going to take the underneath back to bare metal
treated or cut out if necessary
etch primed
then a sealer will be applied via an airgun
then a stone chip over the top for a factory underseal finish

good shout on the sound proofing, i might do that as much as i hate the thought of it after doing that with my previous 106 track car

when i first had my coilovers i had loads of neg camber and went through a set of front tyres in a month
so after having the lower arms i travelled up to zoo motorsport where he set them up properly
the difference was amazing as the car felt really planted on the road, doing high speeds and corners etc
later on i progressed to the cossie wheels and nothings changed

i know the lad on here had a bad story with them, but i've had a few fabrication people look at them
and they've been impressed with them, problem is their completely custom so maybe the other lad had a bad set?

ian puts rose jointed bearings in standard ford lower arms, with adjustable camber
