project "JPH" 2.1 ZT 358bhp-365ftlb
Re: project "JPH" 2.1 ZT 358bhp-365ftlb
The view i've been looking forward to seeing, although it still has the old blue cam cover on which wont be blue!!
tried the inlet on to check out the space available
enough room for some piping there behind the master cylinder
the reason i want to modify the cam breather, very tight to the billet fuel rail

Great job with this car mate. Been following your thread for a while now and its pretty amazing.
Just wondering with this gear lever swap you doing to fit the iB5, does the gear box and this selector just bolt straight on the MK3?

Re: project "JPH" 2.1 ZT 358bhp-365ftlb
well some progress has been made,
currently my main car loom is now in the hands of excursion
as the plan was to remove unwanted cables from the loom, aswell as removing fords pats system
so that theres no complications later on in the build and i already have a good alarm/immobiliser system
also i've had paul cheshire down to discuss/measure the pectel engine loom,
he'll also be sorting the rest of the original engine bay loom with braid (lights etc)
as it looks a bit messy at the moment
i've put the exh manifold and turbo on to see how much room i'm left with..............
not alot
the main compressor housing would be mega close the radiator
and the down pipe would be mega close to the front lower crossmember
was going to change the manifold later on for a less restrictive tubular style once i'd got used to the power,
as this would let me use the full boost throughout the rev range
but as i want to keep the factory bonnet latch / dont want bonnet pins
so looking into different manifold

Re: project "JPH" 2.1 ZT 358bhp-365ftlb
looking good, its gonna be tight in there
hopefully a different manifold design can help you out, are you not considering moving the rad forward as much as possible?
or does it conflict with the cross members and bonnet catch?

Max M4X WW :I found exactly the same last week with my 3" downpipe and wondering where the hell a rad is going to go
i have had to encounter this exact same issue when i went t3
moved rad and intercooler setup forward to clear actuator. Had to cut a section out of the front panel and a little more trimming on the front bumper for the fan clearance.
the next issue was making a modified bracket to attach the now relocated setup to the top of slam panel
was a pain tbh

it does look a pain clark,
if i can help it, i dont want to be restricted when it comes to the rad
also still think of the grs intercooler as i like the design etc
but thinking of approaching graham about a single pass version

Quick random drop-in comment after scanning down this particular page. Firstly, it all looks lovely! Secondly, just thought I'd check you're using fluoro-silicone lined (i.e. oil-dedicated) silicone hose for the oil returns/breathers etc. The hoses used on my engine originally were just silicone water hoses, and they fairly quickly got eaten away and started seeping.

Re: project "JPH" 2.1 ZT 358bhp-365ftlb
it is the special fluro lined hose
one that Ian had made for me
probably be useless if I change the manifold

Work on your loom has started. I sent to the office and had my PA strip off herself and the loom tape. I have located the PATS box.
