Christ! Got a few replys today!!
Pez, How you doing mate? Sounds like a plan, I was looking at an RS1700T earlier. They have a nice looking bonnet, I suspect they are fairly rare though!!!! LMFAO!
Rhinopower, Hey man, yeah sure we can organise something! As long as it's not my birthday weekend!!
Heeman, Sonidos como un amigo del plan. ¡Si está dentro de mi conocimiento!
Mixon, Most times are cool, except near the 2nd Nov!!
scarlet_pimp_mobile, Thanks mate, thats just what I'm after, factory look!
Sjoyce666, Yeah great stuff mate! PM replied by the way! May have to hustle you for the lambda I reckon too!
Rodge, I doubt that matey!!
Chilvers, Cheers mate, me neither!! Thanks for you comments!
pornstar!, Thankyou for your comments sir!
IanFRST, Thanks mate! Fabricatings not difficult really, measure ten times, cut once!! Christ, I'm going to have to buy a few drinks by the sounds of it!! Somerset massive!
Todays Update,
Not a great deal to be honest. I made up sthe engine mounts I was on about,
Welded onto my crossmember.
I was comparing these enging mounts to the CVH cradle. I think I could easily make a decent engine mount set for the CVH/Zetec engine. Almost unbreakable I would imagine, and for a fraction of the cost of uprated ones. Something to think about in the future.
I have come to a bit of a stop at the minute though, as I need a Jaguar starter motor, before I can weld up some brackets to the engine.
I also moved the water pump from the rear of the engine. I'm going to try and mount it in between the 'V' at the front of the engine where the PAS pump would normally sit.
I can hang the engine in though tomorrow to start the 'chopping' procedure on the bulkhead [gulp]!
New headlights arrived also. The inner headlights will be removed and piped directly to the inlets on the turbo's. Via an inline filter of course!

Should be able to get back to mine tomorrow, i'll get them photos you asked about too.
Hopefully should have my mock up engine lifted into place by the weekend to make my own mounts.
I may have enough photos tomorrow to start a thread too

Bloody hell Steve, I hadn't looked at this post for an age and am dead chuffed to see that work has progressed to such an extent. Keep up the good work man, I'm really excited about how the final thing is going to look - gonna be a proper beast!
My name is Alex. I used to have a Capri. I don't anymore. But I'm still called Capri.

Steve how the hell is it you can change an engine in less time than it takes me to fit a new headunit?
When you rev that beast up the front page of the Chard and Ilmister news will be reporting earthquakes

Ben_frst, Your wish is my command!
FezzR, I chopped! I chopped like a trooper! Thinking of getting a rep bonnet made.
Mikecvh, Thanks matey!
Sphinx, Those bushes my friend are from a SII Land rover rear spring mount!
Rhinower, although your banned! Not an ideal weekend for me matey, it's my birthday weekend, and will be upcountry for the weekend, trying to snap me bunjee cord!!
Rodge, Wicked mate, I expect to see a thread mate all about it!
Heeman & Excursion!, You knows it BIATCH's!
Whitey, Thanks mate, it's an interesting read!! Think it's likely to be a few pages long by the time it has finished though!
Capri, LOL! Your excited mate! Todays efforts have made me more than excited!! I was jumping around like a mad thing earlier!! Cheers though matey!
Matt, Good old local news papers!! The locals are going to be all like: 'Where you put that there hedge trimming attachment then?!', Petrol? Whats that then, I'm running this on Hydrogen!
Todays update! - Quite an exciting one!!
This morning I managed to sort a starter out. Got one coming tomorrow, so that should allow me to finish the front engine mounts tomorrow.
I measured up and cut the gearbox tunnel out this morning!!!
Then:
Sweet! The first engine mock up!
So the mock up seems pretty good. The engine is very short, so it has left me a 'fair' bit of room around it.
I started making up the tunnel earlier too, hoping to get it finished along with the engine mounts tomorrow!

Oooh it's all looking quite carrish now! Nice to look down under the car and see it all sitting so centrally Do you have pics looking down on the front of the bay/engine and the rear of the engine/bulkhead, to see how much room you have to play with? Factory look is looking promising from the room you have! Must've been one fun day!

Sweet as mate - did you take into consideration what I said on your earlier post about this project then?
Brilliant work so far mate - can't believe you've got the engine test-fitted up so quickly! You don't hang around!
Keep up the good work,
Andy

Mikecvh, Cheers mate!
FezzR, Thankyou once again bud! Imagine the noise, it would be deafening!!
xr2imetalhead, Cheers mate! Yeah I'm hoping it's going to sound good!
Ben_frst, LMFAO!!!
Heeman, I can get some mate. I think I have probably 50mm between the back of the engine and the bulkhead. The engine is quite short. It's as far back as I can get. Limited by the sump. It's now settled on a happy medium of position and height. All these things do have the fortune of being relatively adjustable at a later date should I so desire though!
Excursion, I was thinking maybe, V12? Aston Stylie?
Sphinx, Thankyou young Jedi, you are learning fast, the force is strong with this one...
t2rst, Thanks mate, yeah no probs, got a few to do once this is done, I should get a nice little production line going!
Motorcyclesfish, Fuel bills are going to be fairly high as it is, without whacking monsterous carbs on there! Not to mention the fact that there are in fact 12 inlet ports!
Rawli, Cheeeeeeeky fooka!! Ere, wot yoo meen?
Mike, Yeah mate, two weeks holiday, to be spent in the sun.... lol!!
AndyHardy, Cheers mate. Yeah I have seen the light on FWD. I'm glad I took on board comments of other people. How the engine is hung in place, I can see what a complete pain in the ass it would have been to mount it in transversely. Hopefully the car should have a fair bit of balance to it with the engine mounted in this manner.
