Update 11/08/2006!

Postby festa-1.3 on Fri Aug 11, 2006 10:32 pm

Update:

I have just brought an si front bumper off a guy on ebay for 45 pounds plus 15 pounds postage. The best bit is it is the same colour as my car. I have to wait for the payment to clear and recieve it so 2 weeks tops i think.

Anyway here it is:

nice.but you could have lowered it for that much money, which would be a far better way to spend £60 imo

Little Update.

Postby festa-1.3 on Mon Aug 14, 2006 7:38 pm

Little Update.

I wanted a smooth bonnet so i decided to give it a go myself.

Right so after spending 40 quid at halfords :aaah:
2 Can of java blue made up (10 pounds each)
1 can of primer (5er)
1 can of laquer (5er)
sandpaper (2 pounds)
Filler (6.50 pounds)
Masking Tape (2 pounds i think)

I got a bit of sanding done (still a bit more 2moro) which took me about 30 mins.
So here is some pics of what i've done so far:

More sanding 2moro but will keep you all updated.

i wouldnt leave the bare metal out too long, as bare metal reacts to rust very quickly which creates problems

It just depends on weather conditions.

it wont match with just one coat.

its realy bright at first but after 4/5 coats it looks right.

After youve painted it clean your car then get some turtle wax on it blend it in with the orignal paint as best as you can then laqur it

wire mesh, kind of like a tea strainer.... not one with big holes ar you will find it harder to get a smoother finish
