PROJECT!!

Postby matt_jagger on Thu Dec 07, 2006 1:02 am

Hi

I've just bought a 1995 MK3 single point injection 1.1 for 160 quid!! legal and 99% straight. In two weeks, I have bought a 1600 CVH, smoothed the swage line and badge marks on the bumper welded up the back hatch and fitted a G Max -60mm kit.

Back to the engine!!

It came from a 1992 escort, has done 40K and is on a carb, it is staying this wa as next year it's on to bike carbs before I upgrade to an RS. Now I need some serious help because I will attempt to fit this myself.

Can I use this petrol tank from the 1.1 bearing in mind it's an injection, be it single point, oh, and the fuel pump on the CVH looks like it has three points to return? and one to flow the right tank being a ball ache.

I need info on the engine mounts as they are not on the engine, can I use the existing 1.1 equipment?? where the bejesus would I get hold of some?? New?? forget the scrap yard they take em out with an engine or charge you mega bucks to take them out for you

I have heard the 1.1 gearbox can stay but will the starter work with the CVH flywheel?

Also, the ignition coil is missing from the CVH, any advice for this little dillema??

And one more! what about the 1.1 alternator?? can it be fitten to the CVH??

PLEASE LADS!! HELP ME OUT!!

anyone?? Can anyone help on the questions I have??

I got quoted £250 to fit it off a local garage, but I think it's crazy money! All he's going to do is drop it in, connect up the fuel and the power and thats it. Like half a das work!! I get paid £100 a day and there aint no way I could hand him my trowel and hawk and him bond out and skim something, I'm way more skilled than him, and I know I can do this thats why I don't want to pay him. It's frustrating being on here reading other advice, but It looks like you need to be in a click here or something??

If someone else wants to quote me for fitting it? I have good money waiting.

it really is more work than that.if you have pats that needs altering to get it to work. you need to sort out the fuel tank as two pumps isnt exactly any good. the injection needs removing. its a lot more work then you think so 250 isnt that bad[/b]
