whats the differance between the focus zetec engine and the mondeo one

i have a chance of getting a low milage focus 2.0litre zetec engine cheap i just need to know if the focus engine ok for dropping into the mk3 fiesta

iirc the engine phsically goes in but the PATS system causes no end of ballache making the Mondeo unit far easier to fit and get running.

so if i use an rs 1800 inlet manifold 2 litre mondeo tb,maf,ecu and an si wiring loom then it will get round the pats problem and should drop straight in?

I'm sure the PATS still causes issues from what I have read in the past on various sites and mags.

Might be worth dropping a line to somebody like MSD or the FFOC for some advise

Focus zetec is a series 3 which is harder to drop in than the series 1 & 2's because they have different mounts.

Check out Excursions website (i cant remember the adress) for what mods need doing

It seems you are correct and after a very quick read the focus engine need a fair bit more work than the mondeo engine due to differant mounting points etc so looks like i will be giving that cheap engine a miss
