R reg fiesta..endura engine,wont rev?

just asking for a neighbour ,he has a mk4/5 fiesta with some sort of endura engine in and its having trouble revving.. you can build the revs up slowly but if you floor it the revs are slow to climb and seem to go up and down.. i unplugged the tps and not a lot happen.. apparently the only thing he's done out of the ordinary in it lately is drive through some massive puddles :lol: any advise appreciated :)

Sounds TPS related to me, that's usually what it does.

Check the CPS multiplug for moisture

he's still at it :lol: runs real crap,wdle with tps unplugged but wont rev with or without it. he's changed it for a scrap yard tps with no difference.. he said its going to the scrap yard itself if he doesnt fix it soon :lol:

If its not misfiring then check the fuel pressure.
