Radiator/Intercooler

Postby JamieFRST on Wed Jun 02, 2004 5:02 pm

Just noticed that there is a small leak from the rad on my new RS, think im gonna have to buy a new one, is it better to goto ford for one? or shaull i spend the xtra and get an alloy one? Also ive got two fans at the front one covers the std intercooler slightly, if i were to get a pace intercooler will i have to uprate the single one or will it cope? are FRST meant to have one or two?

One last thing how hard is it to fit the radiator, was a piece of piss on my 2i, but it look close to the turbo on this

Dont buy a Ford rad .... they cost a fortune! You can get an after market company to re-core your rad. It cost me £120 and is a proper copper core rad.......pity the seals at the side let go  its still sitting in my shed awaiting new seals
I now have a Pace alloy rad (cheers to Sunny) and it hasnt improved cooling, i dont notice any difference over a std one.

FRST one is cheaper, we wish, shuold be as its smaller, like you said. What it is though, it has a copper core! I just bought a Alloy one from GRS, last for a long time.
