RANT: I hate the cold!

Postby Sphinx on Sat Jan 02, 2010 1:58 pm

I'm trying to sort my 'new' car out and the weather is making it nigh on impossible :oooh: I'm trying to remove the dash to fix a problem and it's taking forever :(
The only plus points are that I do still have the Mazda to use so I'm not without wheels and I have a drive to work on which I appreciate some don't have BUT
In an ideal world I'd have all my tools by the side of the car with the doors open so I could work away happily but I can't do any of this in the rain, ice or snow
I just tried working on it and encountered the following problems:
-The glass was frozen to the door seal so I couldn't get in :oooh:
- Once I did get in and start taking a few bits off the dash, within minutes I could barely move my fingers
- The plastics are sooo cold they're not malleable at all!
- Because when you pull the door handle, the window drops an inch so the door can open, I can't disconnect the battery for any length of time in case it starts to rain and i need to close it all up.

Uber uber gay.

it sucks don't it, your fingers go numb and useless lol. It was mega cold when we did Maxs engine, there was some ice on the battery tray, I keep prodding it with my finger and it never melted all day. Gay coastal weather.

It's a pain in the arse becuase I've had the car about a month now and I've not driven it more than about 40 miles in that time
The water leak is soo bad though that if I just ignored it and carried on, it'd be a swimming pool after a few miles :x

Washed the car this afternoon and the water was freezing on the ground and I kept slipping about, hands were almost blue by the time I finished.
