I do it to the mk1 all the time, when i'm alone with it.
If i'm feeling frisky take the oil cap off and thumb them into the rocker cover.
sometimes i sneak out early in the mornings to do it before the family wakes up too.........

No update really. sourced and fitted a thermostat housing that isnt cracked and just a pic from a show at the weekend to show i do actually take it out!

I just love driving it! Also note the child seat in the front! All the concours boys were having a s**t because the child seat was in and a pram and coolbox were rammed in the boot.

Then i entered it for judging and didnt clean it for jokes! The judges faces were awesome when there were red bull cans and crisp packets in the footwells and flys still on the front. Especially when the mk1's next to me spent 4 hours the day before removing the wheels and running cotton buds through the tyre treads!!!

Literally a 2 minute lookover and some eyerolling. They actually said its nice to see an origional 30 year old car opposed to a restored one though. Obviously not nice enough to give me a trophy The club did well with 9 trophys overall though.

Update time, well, kind of.

Its been off the road since November because i dont see the point in running it over winter. Last time between November and April i did 8 miles so with the tax ect it didnt seem worth it.

Anyway, i went to see if it started and have a general look over yesterday, struck up 1st time and sounded sweet as a nut

all tucked up

Tucked it away till march last night
