Little update.

Was driving around near my work the other day and realised there was no power and loads of noise it turned out the cat had totally gone bloacking the exhaust gasses from escaping so after a nice ride in a recovery truck i re-fitted my decat pipe and she sounds lovely now. The decat goes well wth the bluefin installed and i dont seem to have lost as much low down torque as i did without the bluefin.

getting a new set of front tyres asap as mine or on theyre last legs.

Oh and you can now expect to see me at fitp again this year. However i wont be showing my car this time. to be fair thaugh its nothing special so i'm sure noone will miss it lol.

Oh and will someone make me a new sig please as i'm really bored of the one i have and i'm s**t on photoshop lol. It would be much appriciated.

Nice, I've just swapped the front and back wheels due to a stupid amount of wear due to camber :O

Love the way you put "cat dead" in the title, I thought you'd hit a cat for a moment!

Re: My 1.8 focus MP3 - Standard airbox back on.

Postby niracka on Tue Feb 16, 2010 12:52 pm

Right not been online for a while as I'v started my new career in the RAF but now I am in married quatres and will be online again finally :)

I'v just put the standard airbox back on my car because I get this dodgy missfire at low rpm with the k&n on and it seems to suffer from heat soak a little too. Now I am starting the welding fase of my engineering course I will be welding my OBX manifold up and getting that back on the car and that will be it for this motor I think as I am planning to replace it with a tdci mondy st in the next year or so (family car).

I am also now saving for a frst. Probably going to be looking to spend in the region of 1 - 1.5k on one that needs a little tlc and get it upto the standard i want over a few years or something depending on money ect.

Tim - I have a bluefin for my focus anyways s I'l just send that off and get it reset to use on the mondy if thats the way I go.

I would like to see you finnish this one too mate as it was such a shame to see that frst go. The only pic I have of it was when i saw it sat in the back of that garage where they did that rolling road day we met at.

Well little update - I am this week going to be colourcoding my side strips finally. And also repairing a damaged sill on which at the front end the paint act had been totally smashed off (how that happened I havn't a clue).

Also good news - Since putting the old airbox back on my miles per galon have gone up and I am noticing better power once the engine is hot due to no heat soak I think. So all round a good change.

umm, could try and use some Ford interior rear view mirror sticky pads, about 50-80p each at the ford parts counter,

bloody awesome things i went through about 4 sets of other brands, bought a ford one and its stayed stiff since, was about a year ago lol

mind would be expensive if your using a load of them

Hey I'v finnished my colourcoding now. I think it looks sooo much better and I'm so glad I'v finally got round to finnishing it off lol. I need to go over it with some rubbing compound to even out the laquer and get the shine to some out a little better but its a pretty good colour match.

Heres some piccys of how she stands atm. Unfortunately I'v not polished her for a while but will get some better piccys up wen have time to give it a proper wash ect and have sorted fuinnish on strips.

Its funny really that I'v not got this car looking how I want it. As I have just been acceoted for a loan to buy my new mondeo tdci st to replace this as the family car and this is going to be getting sold to finally fund the purchase of a FRST!!!!!!!

Typical that as soon as I get it how I wanted it all along its time to sell and move on lol. Oh well better things :aviator:
