Rear disc conversion
Can you do a rear disc conversion on the mk3 xr2i beam?? As i know some people say the mk5 beam is the one to go for!
Ive just had my mk3 rear beam powdercoated so dont want to change it, but do the focus rear hubs fit straight on to the mk3 beam???
thanks

Re: Rear disc conversion
well no the focus hub only fit the fiesta mk5 rear beam you coudl drill the beam but i wouldn't
the mk5 zetec s rear beam is stronger and makes the wheels stick out by 15mm so up to u but the kit for the mk3 beam is 215 and then u need pads and calipers from fiesta center

Leave the drums on there. Might not look too pretty but they do work and are more than up to the job at hand if looked after properly. So little of the braking is done by the back rear discs just aren't needed.

Re: Rear disc conversion
If it is for the looks.. go for a mk5 rs2000 rear setup..
Pretty easy .. and the sticking out the mk5 fiesta beam has.. can be achived using hub spacers.. used by Ka en puma's (slight modification is needed to the spacers)
needs:
- rs2000 rear brake setup (mk5), incl hubs and back plates, everything except the rear beam itself
- rs2000 hand brake cable (mk5)
- RS2000 brake lines
- Brake line fixing (use one from an old front shock absorber)
- 20mm steel tube (for handbrake cable adjustment)
- ka/puma hub spacing plates (about 5 pounds a piece @ fords
Some tools.. and some guts..

The only pro you'll have is that it has rear discs.. .... The con.. you'll have to mod the rest of the car to make it something.... that is not what i call easier..
