rear discs

Postby m3lee on Thu May 29, 2008 10:54 pm

what rear discs can i use that will fit on my rs1800.
i know people use rs2k, but there carnt be that many breaking, so not going to be easy to find. i got my mate to look in his book at work and 2wd saff rear discs are bigger than the rs2k, will these fit with no drilling and stuff, if not what needs to be done. whats the best set up and what other things can i look out for in the scrappy to do this, oh and what will i need to take, im guessing stub axel with the discs and caliper, and hand brake cable. might get a new cable if im going to mess about fitting one, might as well bhe a new one lol

thanks lee

It is doable but to be honest the drums are more than up to the job of stopping the car and a lot of Fiesta's that I've seen with a rear disc conversion are over braked on the rear which leads to some brown shorts moments.

If you want to go ahead there are a few people on here that have done it and will be able to advise of what is required. Just allow for some sort of bias adjustmet to keep the back of the car behind you

Fcuking hell! That's excuse enough, save the fact that drums do the job well enough anyway!
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.
