Your car: ..? Pretty car..!

Car: 2010 Ford Focus RS

Postby Kev on Mon Sep 09, 2002 10:24 pm

They came with drums because with standard power, drum brakes on the rear are MORE than capable of stopping the car, plus rear discs would have cost more to manufacture. Therefore, Ford used drum brakes to keep their costs down.

Drum brakes can still cope with a hike in power, but when you get to the higher bhp output ( SUNNY!!!! ) It is best to convert to rear discs.

The easiest way is the MkV escort RS2000 set up with RS2000 handbrake cable (you still need to use the frst yoke instead of the RS200 one), or go puma rear beam and matching discs, but this is more expensive.

All depends on how much dough you have! :D

Chum,
Do Hi-Spec do a Mk3 rear disc conversion set then?

Or did you just write it as a red herring?!

no the mans right.

For around 1000 quid they give you thekit to put 4 pots on the back and front, 300mm on the fron and 283mm on the back.

discs, pads etc included, its a no bad deal when you consider the norm.
