hi Jas, yeah you're right, i got it all from the fiesta centre off Nick.
you have to source the Calipers yourself. Mine are Sierra Cosworth ones.
there also the same as Granada Scorpio ones.
Got mine from the scrappies. I was very lucky the car my mate had stripped them off, had brandnew replacement calipers on the Back.

Looks like a good job, and a fine choice of wheels there, fella!
I've been wondering what colour to paint my calipers since adding Racing Puma rear discs to my Superlegerra'd mk4... and having seen your pics, gold it is.

Hi Peeps, thanks for all the comments, Craig, i have the handbrake cable here to put on, im gonna do the other side then put it on.
Fiesta_ Fras, yeah you're right it does push the wheel out about an inch, but is still inside the Arch. This is due to the caliper mounting Bracket.
Again thanks for the comments.

Indeed i do!!
Mikey, how did you get the calipers, looking in such good condition? I know you said they were new! But how new? Did you need to rub them down at all before painting? And what did you use??
Did you use any brake cleaner??

Hi TJ, The calipers were as new, not even the piston inside was silver, it was still Matt Black. The car that had them on had new Ford Replacement calipers put on, and a few days later was written off. So to the scrap yard the car went. And i had the shiny new calipers for 20 quid, i just cleaned the dust off em and prepared them for my painting, including the bolts.
the caliper carriers were not new these were the original items, so these went to my m8 for shot blasting only lightly though. Also you can use a wire brush in a drill.

Hi FezzyMk3.5, the bracket on the back of the original servo, can stay bolted to the car, pop the pin out of the bar that runs to the plunger in the back of the servo, (bit awkward) the brake pedal is now not connected to anything, try and empty the original resevoir don't want fluid going everywhere. unscrew the nuts from the servo's back, and remove the whole unit, obviously disconnect the brake pipes as well, then because the brake pipes are routed a little different on the escort, you will have to bend the pipes a little to match up to the holes on the Mk5 Escort master cyclinder.
The 2 lower pipes originally are now going to be coming from underneath the master cylinder. Thats all for that. should be okay.
Dot 4 fluid or higher is good, but Dot 5 is my personal one, and i hear now there is a Dot 5.1.

Hi, Jur, the braided brake hoses i used were made by Goodridge, they were Fiesta MK3 ones that usually go on the front.
Hi df908, when i first put the cossie front brakes on, the braking went better, when still on the standard master cylinder and servo.
But when i converted the rear to disks (cossie) the pedal went crap, because the the standard little fiesta master cylinder, couldn't deliver enough pressure to the calipers. So with the Escort MK5 Master cylinder being bigger, it can deliver more fluid on one stroke than the fiesta one, as the fezza one is like a Pee-Shooter. Braking is transformed. The brakes are now as good as my 2 litre rover turbo, and thats a big Car.
