HI Peeps just recieved all my Rear disk conversion parts. Its all brandnew including hubs caliper mounting, bearings the lot.

Just thought it would give you all an idea whats needed.

Will put up more pics when the job is progessing, as ive got to get the calipers yet.

HI peeps, the conversion cost me £328 in all, the conversion uses either Sierra Sapphire Cosworth rear calipers, or rear's from the granada scorpio they are the same calipers.

I got them from the Fiesta Centre

here's my bill

Rear Disk Conversion Kit for Mk3 Fiesta £161.60
Handbrake Kit For Rear Disk conversion £29.95 (Ford Genuine Cable)
Brake Disks (EBC) Crossdrilled £24.95
Brake Pads EBC Greenstuff Cosworth Rear £28.20
Post & packing 24h £9.80 :D


Total £328.36


Gonna Paint it all up nicely Hammerite gold to match my Cossie Fronts.

Fiesta Centre's just down the road from me, I do like them. Saw a slightly overstyled yellow frs on 19"s therev once, believe it's been posted b4.

I also gather 'Hi-Spec' offer a rear conversion kit according to X-Factor

Does anyone know about this?

Hi peeps the work is progressing, picked up calipers today, one of them is brand new, they cost me 20 quid!!!.[/img]

The Calipers are also gonna be stripped and cleaned then painted.

Well up on the rear, as standard the wheel studs are mounted in the drum.
Where as on a brake disk there isn't any studs, so you need a Hub carrier.
And the disk sits over the carrier with the studs coming through. And all the bearings on a disk setup are in the Hub.

hmm, ive got some 4x4 cossie rear brakes in the garage, along wioth drilled n grooved disks :P

are they easy to fit?

how much can i get them adaptor plates for?

would i need a bias valve cos of the xtra power at the rear?

you can buy the Adaptor plates from the fiesta centre, don't know how much they are seperatly though.

how much are they?

basically ive got the brakes themselves - calipers carriers disks n pads

just wonderin how much itd set me to convert my rears to disks

you can buy the plates, hubs, bearings, all the bolts, braided brake hoses, all for £160. but then you need to buy disks, pads, handbrake cable setup with spacers to give adjustment. You can get it all from the fiesta Centre. cost me £328 in all.

Thats where ill be getting my stuff from. Did you get the bias valve as well to adjust the power?

you don't need to buy a bias valve, you have pressure valves under the bonnet, bolted to the inner wing, behind the battery, this adjusts the pressure of braking to the back. But you shouldn't have to adjust it.

hi m8, yeah if you use the fronts off a Mk3 Fiesta Non-vented, they are the right Width for the rear cosworth caliper. Also if you use those disks they make the offset right just like the drum setup offset. The price for the disks was £24.95 each, =£49.90
