Rear speakers

Postby Ratspeed on Tue Feb 05, 2008 8:30 pm

Just a quicky, had a search but can't find what i'm looking for.

Just wondering what size rear speakers will fit in the standard holes in the mk3. Ive never had rear speakers in apart from 6x9's.
I'm gonna remove the 6x9's and put a standard shelf in. Ive got components up front and a 12" sub, but i like a bit of rear fill.
Will universal fit 10cm ones fit and line up without molesting the plastics?
Just thought i'd ask before i go and buy some.

cheers

You can get adaptors from Autoleads to fit any 4"/100mm speakers into the rear shelf supports. I've never had any luck with them but dontpannic has managed to use them successfully.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

I've got 13cm speakers back there. Got the adapters from Ebay. Sony 13cm 2-way speakers. does the job nicely. Speakers can't bee too deep though.

If you put some more boring looking speakers in there it'll look quite standard, though to the untrained eye they would with others as you don't see much.

As Bassboy said, you don't really need them, but I have them to give my passengers something to listen to but bass.
