Stage 1 aka 165 chip to raises the boost limit on the ecu from 9psi to 14psi. This allows the car to run aabout 12psi without overboosting. The boost pressure is set by adjusting the wastgate actuator on the turbo. Best to get this done by a tuner and a session on the rollers. Along with a filter and exhaust that should get you 30 horses.

There aren't many tuners that map OFAC and OFAB ECU's so you will be stuck with an off the shelf 165 or 195 chip in th evast majority of cases.

As has been said above decent exhaust and air filter along with a 165 chip and ideally a better intercooler and you should free up the extra 30bhp ior so that you want. Be warned though no matter how much grunt you have you will always hanker after just that little bit more

MSD are an exception but you have to specifically ask for a map from them iirc. Stu and Kenny are s**t hot though :Q

Ahmed Bayjoo also maps whatever CVH you send at him.

One thing you should do before going above std boost: change the fuel pump for a escort cossie one. Std one (which is not new I supose) is not safe for more boost and if you mess with the weber valve the fuel pump seals break (said by Stu @ MSD).
