recommend me an amplifier

Postby Jonezy on Tue Oct 31, 2006 4:55 pm

at the moment ive got a 1600w 4 channel ebay flog off but it does the job. ano that its not neccessarily power ratings that matter but im after something 800w +, to run a 1000w max 400w rms pioneers sub, and a set of 300w max infinitys 6x9s, im thinking kenwood as ma mates got one and it only 300w but it makes my nose itch with bass.

the amp must have full anti interference, my current amp picks up every sound inside the car, including the engine noise, the exhaust note and the cd player motor.

ive ot about £140 max,

how aout this http://www.lowcostcaraudio.co.uk/shop/Kenwood-KAC-8452-KAC8452-4-Channel-Amplifier_productJJ1098ZZcategoryJJ/amplifiers/kenwood/

thanks guys but i was really after a kenwood. after sein ma mates totally standard system with the kenwood sub and amp, i want a kenwood amp now. ae there any you can recommend, to run 6x9s at at least 150w and the sub at 400 +.

any other very well known brand such as alpine or pioner will be ok i think. tranna stay away from cheaper amps.

firstly u have a problem if the amp picks up all that noise...and secondly, you should buy my amp ;)

this seems ok for you

the jbl is pretty good but is fairly budget brand and it is true with ice that you get what you pay for....
i never use kenwoods after seeing my mate's stuff, i don't like em at all, but its each to their own i guess
running an amp in 3 channel mode is never ideal unless it is specifically designed as a dedicated 3 channel amp, and they tend to cost a lot for good un's
have you thought about using two amps? get a monoblock for the sub and a small-ish two channel or even better a four channel so you can power front and rear speakers?
bear in mind it is better to amplify your fronts than it would be your 6x9's for clarity and sound quality.

yeah i've never had a problem with one reliability wise either they just aren't the greatest of amps out there and i would rather save and get something better than a four channel, or use it for its intended use, and run four speakers of it or a pair and use a dedicated mono block amp as they aren't as pricey as they used to be.

suppose, would two amps put more drain on ma battery than one big one.
sum1 recommend me a pair of amps then, probs 2x100w and a 1x400/500w for the sub. both must be same manufactuer as i hate mixing makes

http://www.dvbcaraudio.co.uk/product/To ... l_Amp.html bridge it for your sub about 300 wats rms

http://www.dvbcaraudio.co.uk/product/To ... l_Amp.html - 2 channel about 100 watts rms each

thats £123.85 to your door, so just under your budget,

or theres the JBL option of a 300 watt mono block and a 75.2 2 channel amp which is about £180 inc delivery

dont get kenwood, they pants. pyle amps are good. they are usually on ebay as they are imported from america and are used for competition use. good crisp notes and the bass is sweet without distortion and can be adjusted easily using remote bass boosters. i got one imported from america at a very cheap price (100 quid i think) and was so amazed by the quality that my local car audio place started importing them in.

if u use a d/block you will need to use 4gauge cabling from front to back and then 8 gauge into the amps
