remote brake servo's and oem servos
Hi chaps, slightly dumb question but can someone put into place for me how a remote brake servo kit works.
also, if one was to remove the master cylinder from the engine bay of any modern car ie fiestas corsas golfs etc, then what would be my options.. one of these remote servo's? (i guess thats what the remote means)
also how do they interface with the pedal, can servo's be reorientated or smaller ones swapped around?
also im intrested to see any examples or servo setups..
this isnt fiesta specific.. i just want to learn a little more and i cant really find anything relevent on the net so i thought why not ask my trusty associates over at ft
*waits for someone to mention the need to fit batterys or something *

Re: remote brake servo's and oem servos
you can fit the remote kits anywhere nearish to the engine, because of the vacuum hose that runs the servo. the remote servos have a slave cylinder on them which you connect to your master and the servo runs the brakes. i have been looking into these conversions for a while for my hillman imp. i know that MG midgets used remote servos so try looking at the way they were set-up and it should show the basic idea. thanks, tom

Isn't the brake servo on a RHD mk3 fiesta already a 'remote' servo .. It's just mechanically remote in stead of via hydrolics..
my LHD fiesta has the brake servo at exactly the same place as a RHD example.. i just don't have the bar across the back .. and the pedal is directly connected to the brake servo ROD.
