i want to take it off my si as its a small car it isnt really needed and it will free up some power how do i do this and will it make a big diff?

No it won't make a massive difference but it will improve the feeling of the car. To be honest you'll be used to it and as it's there I wouldn't advise removing it.

What I always say is that the car is light and the steering isn't really heavy so if you don't have it don't bother trying to retro fit it. You have it so you may as well leave it in place.

If you do want to remove it...

You need Rack, collum,steering wheel, drive belt. Now swap it all over.
